This is not a framework I came up with because "Business Brain" sounded like cute branding. I needed one.
For almost twenty years, operations was my thing. I ran businesses. Teams. Systems. People. Technology. Staffing. SOPs. Payroll. Real fires. Real problems. At one point, around 90 people across three countries.
And I was the one who knew. I remembered. I could see the workflow. I could find the problem. I could tell everybody what needed to happen next. Everything came through me.
And for way too long I thought that made me valuable.
Actually... it made me the infrastructure.
Then I had a brain injury.
In 2024, my brain stopped working the way I had always known it. And I cannot fully explain what it feels like when the thing your identity was built around suddenly becomes the thing you cannot depend on.
The woman with the memory... couldn't remember. The woman who loved systems... would look at workflows and feel overwhelmed. The woman who had spent years telling other businesses how to organize themselves... struggled to do it herself.
And I kept trying to push through. Until I had to face the truth.
MY COMPANY COULD NOT KEEP DEPENDING ON MY BRAIN.
So I started capturing things. Processes. Decisions. Meetings. Offers. Context. How I worked. How I thought. What I remembered.
And eventually I started teaching AI enough about my business that it could hold some of what I could no longer afford to hold by myself. Then it started helping. Then my team could use it. Then we started building employees on top of it.
And the thing I built because I needed a contingency plan... turned out to be a better way to run a company.
I overloaded my brain running my own business and everyone else's.
